A Different Kind of Fixed Index Annuity — Designed to Fit Clients Needs

Jared Anderson from Market Synergy Group discusses what makes Brighthouse SecureAdvantageSM 6-Year Fixed Index Annuity (FIA) different and why your clients should consider it to help grow their tomorrow money.

We designed this FIA, including innovative Annual Sum Index Accounts and a Fixed Account1, that allows your clients to tailor an annuity that best fits their retirement strategy. SecureAdvantage 6-Year tracks the performance of an index and allows participation in some of the growth opportunities the market offers via Index Accounts –  based on the Cap Rate or Participation Rate –  while providing 100% protection for your client's purchase payment.2 LEARN MORE

Required Suitability and Product Training

To be up-to-date with industry regulation, we have made important changes to our suitability training and product-specific training. These updates became effective January 3, 2020, on our agent website

Suitability training

There is a new, separate training module specifically on suitability concepts. Note: The new suitability training will be mandatory for new agents effective February 3, 2020. Current agents have until July 31, 2020, to take the new training.

Product-specific training

Our product-specific training has been refreshed and is now available in an updated, interactive and easy-to-read format. Agents who have already completed training modules will not be required to retake the training.

New Term Rates! As of February 1, 2020, Select-a-Term gets even more competitive in some of the most popular issue ages and classes.

In addition to rate changes (including increases and decreases in certain cells), the product will now have new Annual Renewable Term (ART) rates, changes to the ART design, and discontinuation of the Term Conversion credit.

This course will satisfy the new training requirement for existing agents. (New Agent - Access Info Here) AIG is allowing until February 23, 2020, for the training to be completed, but we encourage you to have your agents take this right away to avoid delays with their business. Here are some additional things to be aware of:

  • Applications with a signed date prior to February 24, 2020, will be accepted if a previous version of the product training was completed.
  • For applications with a signed date of February 24, 2020, or later: If new product training course I5281LS.14 has not been completed, applications will be deemed NIGO and paperwork will need to be re-signed and re-dated.
  • Between now and February 24, 2020, when business is received, the Licensing team at AIG will send a courtesy email directly to the agent with a copy to the IMO to remind the agent that new product training will soon be required.
  • No announcement for the new training requirement will be sent directly to the agents by AIG. We encourage you to reach out to your agents NOW to make sure they are aware of this new requirement.
